Mornings 6am - 10pm
Dave is the Morning Show host on CooL96, and is entering his 30th year in broadcasting. Highlights include broadcasts from Hawaii for the movie premiere of "Pearl Harbor", to flying with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.
When off-air, Dave performs as John Lennon with the nationally touring Beatles tribute band "Beatlemania Again", and solo tribute show "The Lennon Legacy". He most recently returned from a tour of Japan, Korea, and China, and appearances as Lennon at Yoko Ono's "Imagine Peace" exhibit at Bucknell University, and the "John Lennon - The NYC Years" exhibit at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Annex in New York City.
My first love is radio. I'm an award-winning audio producer and I've spent most of my professional life in front of a microphone. Radio and the music of my generation got me through my childhood and adolescence. This is my calling, so I wouldn't even try to imagine doing anything else. I love connecting with Cool 96's listeners over the airwaves middays Monday through Friday 10-2 and telling the world what I'm having for lunch. It also makes me proud to be working for a locally-owned radio group that does so much for our community. I connect with the music we play because it's my music, too. What I especially like about being in radio is the occasional opportunity to meet listeners in person. Then I can picture them listening as I talk into the mic so I never feel like I'm alone. Work never gets tedious when you're living your passion, and I feel lucky to be able to have so much fun doing my job.
Afternoons 2pm - 5pm
As a youngest staffer, what do you like best about our area?
All the seasons to enjoy, it's close to home and we have pro hockey!
What is your favorite food?
I'm a sucker for a good Penne ala Vodka... know any good places that have it on the menu?
So food aside, what is your favorite song?
"Bad Bad Leroy Brown" - Jim Croce
Is he also your favorite artist?
No, that honor falls on Fleetwood Mac
How about best concert moment or favorite concert?
I've seen so many; but Peter Noone is excellent showman!
How about on-air, do you have a best radio moment?
Letting listeners bleach and cut my hair to raise money for a cancer charity (I wore a hat a lot after that day).
Before Cool 96, what were you?
I'm the youngest on staff remember? I was in diapers!
If not in radio, what would you be doing?
I'd probably be a lawyer or fiscal advisor.
5:00pm - 7:00pm
Unlike most of my co-workers, I am very new to the radio business, although entertaining has always been in my blood. After high school, I pursued a military career, which ended up lasting nearly 10 years and took me to places like Columbus, GA; Colorado Springs, CO; and South Korea. I am also a Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, which I am very proud of. I am a recent graduate of SUNY Broome Community College where I received degrees in both Communications and Web Design. In addition to my On-Air work, I am the Promotions Director for Equinox Broadcasting and am the co-owner of a local mobile DJ company. I am finally living my dream and could not be happier. Thanks so much for listening!
